My sweet Khmer girlš¤
Goodbyes are so bittersweet. Itās difficult to leave people youāve built relationships with. But what a blessing it is to love people so deeply that itās hard to leave them. Cambodia has been my very first overseas country to serve in. I donāt have much experience to make a proper judgment, but in my little time with other people groups the Khmer people have been the sweetest. Cambodia has truly stolen my heart.
During our time in Cambodia God has emphasized the importance of long term missions. Iāve learned that trust has to be built and relationships have to be nurtured. All this is especially true when thereās a significant cultural differences between yourself and another person. Although we did build relationships with the people we served, there were still barriers that could not be crossed in the matter of a month. Because of these barriers I often felt kind of useless.
I was humbled to be reminded that anytime we give God our āyesā to serve him, itās actually just a āyesā to an invitation to witness him in action. Thatās still true if the action is performed with our hands or not. Itās still just God in action and itās just simply a privilege to see him move first hand.
Ok bye!!! Love you!!!
Stay tuned to hear about Thailand!!!!
